Sommer Patterson Ewing – MA, LMFTA Clinician
Sommer, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, brings over two decades of invaluable experience in the mental health and substance use field. Throughout her career journey, she has spearheaded clinical coordination for a Substance Use Program catering to pregnant and parenting women, served as a program director for a Child and Adolescent Foster Care Agency, a Team Leader for Intensive In-Home and Community Support services, and provided outpatient mental health counseling. Graduating from the Pfeiffer University Marriage and Family Therapy Program in 2020, Sommer obtained her license to practice from the NC Marriage and Family Therapy Licensure Board in 2021. Her academic foundation includes an Undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, earned in 1999.
Driven by a profound commitment to fostering transformative relationships, Sommer is dedicated to delivering culturally attuned, trauma-informed care. She creates an atmosphere conducive to growth, encouraging vulnerability, instilling hope, and securing emotional safety. Sommer’s expertise extends to the exploration of intergenerational patterns and teaching clients how trauma fundamentally alters the family system. Outside of her professional endeavors, Sommer finds joy in exploring diverse cultures through international travel, further enriching her understanding of human connection and resilience.
